Whiz Bang Days Garden Tour

We are so excited to be hosting the 1st annual Whiz Bang Days Garden Tour! We would like to celebrate and showcase the beauty of our city. Robbinsdale residents have some of the BEST gardens around and we want to showcase the beauty of those fantastic gardens.

Saturday, July 12 from 10am-2pm spend some time traveling around Robbinsdale to see some of our spotlight gardens. Use the map provided above to see which gardens are participating or the list below for brief descriptions of each garden.

Watch for the yard signs posted at each participating garden/house!

2025 Garden Stops

New to Town - 3305 Ewing Ave. North

Since moving to Robbinsdale in 2020, we have done extension landscaping to make the backyard more accessible. In the process, the area has been divided into sections with different themes which are still evolving as we learn more about the soils and conditions here in town.

Happy Gardens - 3328 Halifax Ave N

Shady gardens with hosta, hydrangeas, other shady perennials, containers of annuals and a boulevard garden.

My hidden garden retreat - 4046 ZENITH AV N

Perennials and shrubs front and back and a boulevard garden.

The Corner Garden - 4200 Ewing Ave N

The garden features two patios, a mixed stone path, outdoor countertop space, and dry stacked stone walls. Custom metal planters are filled with tropicials and exotics. There is a dedicated vegetable garden and native garden, with a mix of trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials, and annuals throughout the yard. Plants that are rare and unusual alongside the classic and common. Every year there is less lawn to mow and more pollinators and diversity. It is the ever evolving garden.

Fountains & Hostas - 4101 York Avenue North

Lush Landscape, ferns, fountains, hostas

Beautifully Grounded - 4200 Zenith Avenue North

Colorful Annuals mixed with Perennials, groomed and grounded with love for the earth

Sanctuary - 4111 Lake Drive

An eclectic mix of Hosta's, shrubs, perennials, sculpture and garden art.

Everything but the Kitchen Sink (and tropicals) - 4100 Abbott Ave N

Sun and shade garden beds in the front yard, including a rain garden and dry creek bed with rain chain and a patio with a variety of potted plants. Food producing perennials dispersed throughout the large native pollinator garden and vegetable garden that both take advantage of the South facing public right of way.

Historic Graeser Park - 4400 Lakeland Ave N

The one-of-a-kind Graeser Park rock garden was reclaimed from the ruins. Now it is once again abloom with native perennials, trees, and bushes, including lilacs planted earlier this year. In 2008, the Robbinsdale Lions Club began cleaning up years of overgrowth, and in 2021 MnDOT's Historic Roadside Properties and Waysides Program began a multi-year project to bring the park back to life. Now, taking the historic stairs onto paths surrounded by unique rock formations and flowers, you can imagine you've stepped back in time to a magical place that has been there for 85 years!

Sheridan Farm & Field - 2717 Ewing Ave N

A fenced-in fruit and vegetable garden next to a native prairie "field"

Pollinator Smorgasbord - 4548 Chowen Avenue N

Designed to be pollinator friendly, this garden features a wide variety of flowering annuals and perennials to provide color throughout the season. A mix of hardscape, garden art, and supplemental pots add some additional visual interest and height. Feel free to walk through, sit on the chairs, bench, or boulders, and pick as many weeds as you want!
